No one would claim to prefer to live his or her life without wisdom. There is no more perfect wisdom than that bestowed upon us by God. We are told in James 1:5-8 that God will give us wisdom if we ask for it. He reminds us that although He freely gives it to us, we must believe it to be wisdom or it insults God and does us no good.
In, James 3:17, we are told that "the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." God cannot be in the presence of sin. We therefore cannot receive, understand or practice godly wisdom while harboring sin in our lives. Some sins are easily recognizable and very public. Some can be camouflaged quite well, however. Forgiveness is one such sin. To truly forgive requires more than human will. It necessitates supernatural power to which we have access as believers--again only if we ask believing.
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2 is the answer to living for and with God. Get His wisdom and live His will so you can share the hope you have in HIm (I Peter 3:8-17) and others will believe what you say to be real.
